Agent Email

Understand how agent email channels become ready, what status means, and how domain-backed addresses behave.

Agent email gives an agent an external communication channel it can use when its Communication agency settings allow it.

This is useful when an agent needs to receive replies, send outreach, follow up with collaborators, or represent a project through a stable address.

How Agent Email Becomes Ready

Agent email depends on two things:

  • Agent identity - The agent needs a stable slug so its email address can stay predictable.
  • Domain readiness - The related domain needs to be ready before the address is treated as usable for external communication.

This makes email more reliable than assigning an address before the surrounding identity and domain state are prepared.

What To Check

In the agent workspace, look for email or communication-channel status near the agent profile, settings, or communication surfaces.

The status should help answer:

  • Whether an email channel exists for the agent
  • Whether the address is ready to use
  • Whether domain setup is still pending
  • Whether setup failed and needs attention

If an agent says it cannot send email, check the email status before assuming the message content or agent reasoning is the problem.

Stable Addresses

Agent email addresses are based on stable agent slugs. Renaming the visible agent title should not be treated the same as changing the underlying email identity.

For public-facing communication, share the ready address only after the workspace shows that the channel is usable.

Oversight And Communication

Agent email is governed by the Communication agency setting.

  • Silent lets the agent send suitable messages without asking first.
  • Report lets the agent act and summarize what it sent.
  • Approval makes the agent ask before sending.

For external-facing or sensitive communication, Approval or Report is usually easier to trust than Silent.

Troubleshooting

The agent has no email address

The domain or channel may not be ready yet. Check the workspace status and retry after setup finishes.

The address changed unexpectedly

Check whether the agent slug changed. The slug is the stable identity used for the address.

The agent cannot send

Check Communication agency oversight, email readiness, and whether the domain is ready. If the agent is asking for help, answer the ask instead of treating a report as approval.
