File Uploads

Learn how to upload and share files with your Kindship agents for better context and collaboration.

Share files with your agents to provide context, reference materials, and information that helps them assist you better.

Why Upload Files?

Files give your agents additional context:

  • Documents — Share reports, articles, or notes for analysis
  • Images — Provide screenshots, diagrams, or visual references
  • Data — Upload spreadsheets or data files for review
  • Reference Material — Share anything relevant to your work

Your agent can read, analyze, and reference these files during conversations.

Referencing Uploaded Files

"What does the data in the spreadsheet show?"

File Context

Your agent uses file contents to:

  • Answer questions about the content
  • Reference information in planning
  • Provide analysis and insights
  • Draw from the material in conversations

Combining Files and Conversation

Files work alongside your conversation:

  • Upload a document, then discuss it
  • Provide reference material for a project
  • Share screenshots to explain a problem

Managing Uploaded Files

Viewing Uploaded Files

Depending on the interface:

  • Files may appear in the conversation where uploaded
  • Some workspaces show a file list or library
  • Access history to see past uploads

File Retention

Uploaded files are:

  • Associated with the agent/conversation where uploaded
  • Available for reference in future conversations
  • Retained according to your plan's storage limits

Removing Files

If you need to remove an uploaded file:

  • Look for a remove or delete option on the file
  • Note that removing a file may affect agent context

Best Practices

Choose Relevant Files

Upload files that directly relate to your work with the agent:

  • Relevant documents, not entire libraries
  • Focused content, not massive dumps
  • Current materials, not outdated versions

Organize Your Uploads

Keep your file sharing organized:

  • Name files clearly
  • Upload to the appropriate agent
  • Don't upload the same file multiple times

Consider Privacy

Think before uploading:

  • Review files for private content first

File Not Processing

If uploaded but agent can't access:

  • Wait a moment for processing

If your file type isn't supported:

  • Convert to a supported format (PDF, text)
  • Copy relevant content into the conversation
  • Use screenshots if visual
